great gatsby scene from wilson p.o.v
From pages 157-160
It was three in the goddamned morning, why couldn’t he leave and leave me to grieve in peace? I can't decide whether Myrtle deserved it or not, was it the will of god? Or was those in the yellow car covering what they have done up. It must have been Tom, I still remember when Myrtle came in bruised and swollen around her face. At the time I didn’t know who did it, what a damned fool I was for not knowing. Just remembering this has brought back so many awful memories, even the good has become bad in the light of her passing.
That's when that man Michaelis asked me how long I had been married to Myrtle, he even asked me twice as I didn’t hear him. Of course I heard him I thought, I just did not care for him to be here. That's when I also thought to myself, “had I been talking aloud”, oh what a damned shame of a condition I was in. So I thought I might as well tell him, maybe he would go away.
So I told him that we had been married for twelve years, that was of course the honest truth.I was wrong, wrong wrong and more wrong. Me answering the question only made him more intruiged to learn more, it was too late to make him go away now. Not only was this man asking me questions but the cars passing by! The cars, they flew by so fast! Just like the one that ran down my cheating wife.
What was even worse was that this man could not tell I wished for him to go oh so badly, for now he asked me if I had a church. He even said he would call a priest for me. He was already enough, no he was too much, why would I want more company. Why can't he just leave. I reluctantly told him that I had no church, but of course I didn’t, I was a working man. I had no time for such feeble wastes of time
He said I simply had to belong to one, he said I had to be married in one.And the way he said it showed how badly he wanted to seep everything out of me. And of course I gotten married at a church, almost everyone gets married a church nowadays! What a blasted fool! So I decided to entertain him and told him that it was quite a long time ago. Twelve years as I said, was he even listening?
Oh my I’ve gone so mad, I can't even think straight, she cheated on me with that rich man. Why did it have to be Tom! I told him to look in the drawer next to him, to show what a cheating whore that Myrtle was, and he did, after asking which one. He took out the damned dog leash. It was so expensive, meaning no other than that damned Tom bought it for her! I’m not crazy, she was having a affair! I have to show I’m not crazy!
He said that this meant that she must've bought it. Not trying to entertain his numbness to the obvious I just said where I found it.
She was cheating on me! And cheating or not she was my wife and I know how to find out who killed my wife. He simply asked who killed her. I told him that I had a way of finding out, which I did. Then, he has the nerve to say I don't know what I’m talking about, of course I do!
After this, all I can get out is that “He murdered her.” Then showing his nerve again he says it was a damned accident. It wasn't an accident, it couldn't be. This was deliberate.
He said he was the trusting type, and told me the girl tried to get out, but the man kept driving. That's when I realised he thought she was running from me, that I hurt her, and she was hit. Why would I do anything to her, why would he think this? I was the one wronged here.
He asked my why she would be like that, I simply told him he was a deep one. And that was all I said.He didn't deserve to know more. He then said he could phone for a friend of mine, whoever that may be. But he knew I had no one, was he trying to make my condition worsen, was he taunting me?
Neither of us said anything for a while, until I mumbled that I confronted Myrtle about her affair, I told her that she might fool me but not god, no one fools god. As I mentioned I took her to the window I did so once again now, I told her god knew all she was doing, she knew she would be punished, but I must confirm that in her mind. In the window, I saw Him, I saw Him. God was looking at me. And I reconfirmed to myself and to him and God watching that, God saw all.
Michaelis then told me something, but I didn't hear it, so I continued to stare out the window into God's eyes, wondering, what to do.

Learning TARGET EXPLAINED/REDONE

Reading Literature (1.1f): Students will determine and analyze different points of view in various texts.
To me this means that you will write about a real or fictional event, with good effort and good product. Meaning it can't be elementary school level writing. Details that not only fit the scene but what the book represents and how it presents itself. Meaning if the book never curses, neither should your text. The events must also be structured well and make sense.
The second part means that you will do it in a different point of view of a character that either has a background or no background in the certain scene that is being redone.
